Been tired today. Wasted a lot of time. I cleaned the coop, watered the chickens, fed them. It's raining and they seem to be staying inside the fence today. Yesterday evening I processed 2 roosters. I'm getting ready to put them in the freezer. They have been staying on ice overnight. Cleaned up the kitchen and ran two loads of laundry. Now it's lunch time. After lunch I have to get Chloe onto her school work and I will take care of the birds.
Took care of the birds. It seems that Chloe is really tired today. Had a big meltdown after lunch. It is raining harder this afternoon. I shouldn't say I wasted a lot of time since I was spending quite a bit of it researching. Learned a lot about natural egg production. Was very interesting. I also stumbled upon a blog, Aspiring Homemaker. Was also very interesting, looked it over but didn't stay there too long. Have things to do this afternoon.
Tiredness, yesterday I got up too early and wrote in both my blogs. In the afternoon I took a nap then processed the roosters. It was challenging to say the least. The kids and the hens were involved. The hens jump over the fence to get the greener grass, usually I open the gate for them but since I was planning to process I decided not to. Anyway I ended up getting soaked by the hose more than once. Since it was cold I had to change clothes halfway. Mark broke his fishing net being awkward with catching the rooster. Somehow it was supposed to be my fault. He was also trying to work on the house roof instead of working with me, which was ok except for the kids needed some supervision. Anyway, last night was too early to bed and I am tired today.
