October 3

Today is cool and damp. It's been raining all weekend. Not rain rain, but drizzle, mist, on and off kind of rain. It's laundry day and the sun won't shine till wednesday so I'm going to have to use the dryer. I'll miss the smell of outdoors on my clothes. Went to the Nutcracker practice with Chloe on Sat. Was able to do some knitting while there. Didn't do a lot else on Sat. Sunday I started off the day by processing the last two of the White Plymouth Rock roosters. Now there are only three Buckeyes left in the back pen. The roosters stayed on ice in the cooler chest so I will have to take care of them today. Thinking about brining one, the little one and cooking him for dinner. I still haven't frozen the broccoli leaves. If they are still good I'll do that today too. Mark's dad brought me a bag of apples Saturday. Will have to save those too. I wanted to get apples for applesauce but short on money. Will have to see about that and it could be too late because everything was so early this year. Would also like to get some more corn.
