The weekend was busy, it was a good weekend. Valentines Day, Sunday, was sweet. I went to church with my girls. I'm glad I did. I never feel like going but when I do I'm always happy I made the effort. Today is turning out very busy as well. It is my Grandson Eli's 3rd birthday. I made a tray of cupcakes, decorated for him. It isn't healthy but it is a rare occasion. Chocolate. Who can resist that?
Day 10 on the Greener Diet is about eating humanely raised meats. That is, if you eat meat. This is a no brainer for me. When I found out how meat in this country was raised I was angry. I felt betrayed by the government and wondered how a country like ours could be so blatantly inhumane. At that time I had no idea how I would ever be able to eat meat again. I was angry and wanted to be sick and I did get mildly depressed. But since then, options have been opening up to me and I am discovering that I do have choices. The thing is, it is up to us little consumers to hold our country accountable by doing what we can, taking advantage of the options, and changing our habits. If conscientious farmers realize they are getting more consumers they will increase there herds. When enough people are buying conscientiously the big guys will eventually notice. Anyway, I feel that I owe it to my family to make the best choices possible for them.
